Light in the midst of my Darkness!

Where is the light in the Midst of my Darkness?

This is a question that I used to ask myself many a times when I would face dark situations. Although I knew who God is, most of the time, my first reaction was to try and control that dark situation. Well, as you can imagine, the situation would only get darker.

For the longest time (roughly the past 10-12 years of my life), I was stubborn and would not run to God when faced with a dark situation. Finally, when I recently submitted my all to Him, He brought me into light out of the dark tunnel of what my life used to be (more on this in the other blogs to come). Interesting how the answer to the light of my darkness was Jesus when I knew Him all along!

This particular verse (James 1:17) is so dear to me because God is a God of Light. First of all, He gives us gifts (who wouldn't want that!). Secondly, the one fact that I love so much is that God is the Father of heavenly LIGHTS. He is UNCHANGING unlike us or our dark circumstances. JESUS IS CONSTANT AND WILL BRING US OUT OF OUR DARKNESS.

Peace and beauty in the midst of trials and pain Upon looking at nature be it the trees that are visible when I look out the windows of our house, or the mountains/deep blue seas seen in images, I can't help but feel this peace and awe at the beauty of it.  It is then that one has to believe that there is a Creator of such beauty. I feel so so blessed and thankful to know this Creator. What's even more humbling is that the One who created all this longs to have a personal relationship with me and because of that He came to earth and died for you and me.  Even when the situation around us seems never ending with hopelessness (pandemic, rumors of wars, injustice), Jesus is the only One who gives peace that passes all understanding.

LOVE ALWAYS WINS

With all the is going in today's world, one can't help but ask one question: What has happened to love?? The truth is: It starts with you and me. It definitely is easy to point a finger on others and how they do not love one another. But then the difficult part came when I had to introspect, I realised that I was guilty for not loving others. How could I think of a world with love when I was struggling to love those around me who weren't very easy to love? That's where I look to Jesus. When He was nailed to a cross to die for you and me by those who hated Him, instead of cursing and getting mad at them (because He was innocent), what did He do? He prayed for them. To me, that is the exact approach I should use when I am faced with others who aren't good to me. Love them even when they hurt me. That  is how I can do my part by creating a better world full of love. And my role model for that is Jesus. Love wins and we've been put on this ...
